Porcelain Museum at Augarten
Thanks to the spike in porcelain fashion by European enthusiasts in the early 18th century, there was a resurgence of the porcelain production and so in 1718, the first ever Viennese porcelain factory was founded by Claudius Innocentius de Paquier.
Since its founding in 1923, the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory at Augarten has been located in a former Imperial palace in the Augarten park. The museum illustrates the history of Viennese porcelain with over 150 representative pieces from its different artistic phases. The exhibition ranges from the origins of porcelain in China to the enthusiasm of European aristocrats and the stunning works of Viennese artists and porcelain makers over the 20th and 21st century.
