Otto Wagner Hofpavillon Hietzing
Otto Wagner, one of the pioneers of the modernist urban architecture movement in 19th century Vienna, was commissioned to design the metropolitan railway (Stadtbahn) around the turn of the century. Wagner took up this challenge to design the stations and metro networks with vigour, so much so that he designed a pavilion station for Emperor Franz Joseph especially, in Hietzing.
Visitors can now step back in time into his restored garden, admire portraits that hang on the walls and see his apartment which has been restored to how it was when Haydn was living.
