Closing days and opening of “Johann Strauss - The Exhibition”
The Theatermuseum will be closed until December 3, 2024 due to the construction work for the major anniversary exhibition celebrating the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss. The exhibition will then be available from December 4, 2024 to June 23, 2025.
Nuda Veritas by Gustav Klimt
The original of Gustav Klimt's Nuda Veritas is currently on loan to the WienMuseum and will be back at the Theatermuseum from December 4, 2024.
The palace was built in the 17th century. In 1745, the baroque palace came into the possession of the art-loving Lobkowitz family. Among the many works that Ludwig van Beethoven, who often played music in the palace, was particularly patronised. The splendidly decorated Eroica Hall, the centrepiece of the building, commemorates Ludwig van Beethoven and the first performance of his third symphony. The first performance of Beethoven's 4th Symphony took place at Palais Lobkowitz in 1807.
